Movies: Salt
From Edwin A. Salt to Evelyn Salt.
When I first watched the trailer for 'Salt', I heard all kinds of things about how the role was originally written for a man.
Which it completely was.
It was even meant for Tom Cruise too.
If someone hadn't suggested Angelina Jolie in the role of Salt, I think I would've just watched yet another espionage action film.
It made me think about the differences in the script that could have been if the original lead was a man. And that made me realize that the story wouldn't have changed around too much.
Incredible.
It was a really great movie to watch. I think we all remember how great Angelina Jolie was in Wanted.
This is like Wanted part 2. :)
Peace lovies.

Singapore: The City That Never Stops... Eating?
Apparently, 10% of Singaporeans are obese.
Apparently, they don't like us to be fat.
Welcome to the epitome of what it means to be a fat girl (or person) in a skinny world.
I get that being obese is u n h e a l t h y, but does anyone out there really believe that a governing body of a country can make (read: force) people lose their weight? Especially by releasing statistics on the percentage of obese people in the country?
Shouldn't an obese person decide for him/her-self that they want to lose weight? I mean, it's not exactly like all these people telling them what to do are going to be the ones lifting the weights, eating less or doing all that cardio!! It's not like anyone's paying for a free gym membership!
Already, people in Singapore think being just a little bit fat is a sin. To even mention the word obese in front of anyone is a cardinal sin. I prefer not to think of what it means to actually be obese.
I read the Editor's Note in the ST's Mind Your Body insert, and the editor wrote that there are "no excuses for a few extra kilos".
Someone tell this woman that she's missing the point completely! A few extra kilos does NOT equal obese! We're talking kilos upon kilos upon kilos of extra kilos here! We are talking about the difference between a healthy heart and one that could decide to stop at any moment.
Singapore is probably the worse excuse of a skinny country ever. We hate on fat people, throw looks of disgust at obese people and yet at the same time we are all gluttons, stuffing our faces and calling ourselves foodies. More like pretentious idiots with the wrong idea.
You can't eat everything and not expect to gain weight.
Oh, and I'm sorry but, not EVERYONE wants to spend hard earned money on diet pills that will just restrict their sleep patterns!
If you're a little on the chunkier side, I say, embrace it. It's Y O U R body. Don't let a statistic make you feel inferior. We should all exercise because we want to lose the pounds not because we don't want our country to have a prevalent rate of obesity.
Yourself before others ok?! It's your health and in the end you are footing the bills. So who cares what anyone says!
And this whole 10% obese thing is causing some sort of nation wide distress. Like, who cares! At least people here can eat. There are people who don't even have 3 meals a day and can't even secure 1 meal!
Be grateful for what you have. And LIVE YOUR LIFE.
Peace lovies.

Makeup Haul: A Tartan Tale
Almost an entire week has passed since I got my hands on some lovely products from the MAC 2010 Holiday Collection A Tartan Tale. And I want to share what I got with everyone!
If you want to read what I had to say about it initially, click here. All photos from Temptalia.com unless otherwise stated.
Anyhoots, here's what I got:
Yup yup. Sticking true to my guns, I bought the pink lip bag kit. Comes with Mellow Mood Lipstick, Baby Sparks Dazzleglass and In Sync Lip Pencil. In Sync is about half the size of a regular lip pencil but no one ever uses pencils down anyways so no big dealio.
The peachy colors from the Dazzle the Lads lip kit are tempting but the lip bag is exactly the same! And apparently, most items are in the permanent collection.
Colors include: (First Row) White Rabbit, Melt My Heart, Carbon, (Second Row) Family Treasure, Gaellic Gold, Crown & Sceptre. Palette includes a mini (like super mini) 213.
I know I didn't want any of the e/s palettes initially but I couldn't help myself! They were all so beautiful but this one struck me as the key one to get. And especially since I'm not made of money, I had to pick ONE out of the four possibilities. Palettes are great money-savers, even though to call a $76 palette is a money-saver is an oxymoron. You get six great shades with amazing color payoff for less than what you would pay if you were buying each color individually (i.e. SGD26 x 6 = too much money to pay).
Plus, I felt the colors suited my tried and tested go-to looks = a smokey eye and a gold/bronzey eye. Plus all possible color combos that I have yet to try out.
Comes with: Indianwood Paint Pot, Mini Zoomblack Zoom Lash, Blessedly Rich Lipglass, Noble Touch Mineralized Eyeshadow.
The most expensive of my loot! I didn't really think that these kits were as "exclusive" as the website describes them but since I didn't have any of products and I wanted the tin especially, I thought Hmm, Why not? An especially dangerous thought but I really am in love with Indianwood. Golden heaven.
My Scottish Fling, the other mineralized kit, came with the Bare Study paint pot, something that I never wanted in the first place.
So that's my haul! I am planning on getting the Viva Glam V Lip Bag from the collection. The bag is different and it comes with the Viva Glam V lipstick and lipglass. 100% of the purchase price goes to the MAC Viva Glam Foundation, so WHY NOT HELP A GOOD CAUSE OUT? Plus, I don't have Viva Glam V at ALL (sad I know). So when I pop into Sephora, I promise to share it up on the blog.
I bought all these lovely MAC goodies after my Estee Lauder Expert Makeup Workshop, which is another story for another time! I promise to share my Glamour is Golden Holiday Blockbuster Collection with you all soon.
Peace lovies!
