Fat Girl | Skinny World was started in late 2010 and is my humble offering to the blog-sphere. The micro-site is a online reflection of my life and is as multifaceted in its articles and posts as I am in person. I blog about everything from Makeup, Fashion, and Beauty to Health & Fitness, Finance and Self-Help. Here you'll find honest, no holds barred opinions on everything from current events to product reviews.
THE NAME
Fat Girl | Skinny World gets its name from my sense of perception. I believe that it's our perceptions that shape the world around us but all too often, we let the perceptions of others shape our world. And in this world, the narrow-minded, prejudiced and short-sighted perception tries to tell young girls across the world everywhere that skinny is beautiful and that only skinny is beautiful. Not only am I, by definition, a fat girl but I'm a fat girl because I refuse to adopt society's standards of beauty as my own. BTW, being a fat girl is awesome. You enjoy the simpler things in life and the smallest of things make you happy!
THE AUTHOR
Here's the skinny (if you'll pardon the pun on me: I'm a female in my early twenties. I've never worked a day in my life, until now. When I write about finance, it's because I am absolutely crap at saving money. I love makeup and am a freelance makeup artist. I believe in equality across gender and race but I believe that women empowerment is the most important thing in the 21st century. I'm still figuring out who I am and what I love in life. I love meeting new people. And I love to share what I've learned.
